Company Gets Acquired and Gets a New Name
The Client
After being acquired, a US company was being rebranded with a new company name to be taken global by its new parent company.
The Task
Prisma was asked to conduct a NameBridge study of the proposed new names to determine their viability in several key international markets.
The Solution
After meeting with the client, Prisma’s project team made several initial tweaks to clarify with the client exactly what parts of the proposed name “system” would be translated and which would remain the same globally. We then carried out the NameBridge survey for two separate name sets across seven key markets.
The Outcome
NameBridge results were critical to achieving success:
- NameBridge screened out the least suitable names
- NameBridge revealed that three of the names were already in use by other companies in other key countries
- The final chosen name is well on its way as a recognizable brand in its category.
