Test-driving a New Package Design in the Italian Countryside

The Client

A US-based maker of popular breathing strips who was planning to enter the Italian market

The Task

Prisma was asked to conduct a NameBridge study to determine the top-ranking package design scheme for a popular consumer product for the Italian market.

The Solution

The client was interested in qualitative data only and specific target concepts of design, size, and fit of primary message. Prisma designed a custom survey with ample sampling depth to provide insight into these target concepts and selected respondents, meeting key demographic requirements.

The Outcome

The survey validated several critical design elements:

  • The “fit” of the primary message and design elements
  • The design scheme for indicating size (S, M, L) and color
  • The gender of the person on package (which differed from US packaging)

The result has been strong consumer success and “easier breathing” for both the company and its customers.
